New Select World Elite Mastercard Launches Today
Luxury membership community Select today announced the coming launch of the Select World Elite Mastercard. The new Select credit card will combine Select’s network of ongoing member benefits, an uncapped 2% cash back across most spend categories, and World Elite Mastercard benefits.
Grocery and service industries purchases only earn 1%. Payments toward utilities do not earn cash back rewards. All other purchases get unlimited 2% back.
The card comes with a $450 annual fee, which is the same price as the Select membership, and you get those same benefits. You can join the waitlist now for free. All you need to do it enter some basic personal information.
It’s not clear how selective the application process is for the Select World Elite Mastercard. But Select’s membership which also costs $450 per year is not easy to get. You submit an application with biographical information and things like income, interests and more and then they will decide whether they think you would be an active member and get along with other members of the community.
Select will allow prospective cardholders to apply for their invitation-only Beta beginning in February 2023. Invitations will be granted sequentially, but current Select members and prospective members who invite others to the waitlist will have priority.

Is the card worth the annual fee? If you ever thought of paying $450 for the Select membership, then it’s definitely worth getting the card instead. You can possibly get a signup bonus as well, but the details aren’t clear.
But to make sense of that $450 fee you need to get enough savings through the card. The earning rates are nothing to rave about and you can do better with a no fee card like Citi Double Cash. But if you spend enough money at eligible brands included in Seelct’s benefits, then it can be worth it.
