Santander Bank has a new promotion for customers who open a checking account. There are two separate bonuses, one for $225 and the other for $400. The bonus you get depends on the account you open. Let’s take a look at the details for this Santander Bank bonus and see how it works and who is eligible.

To get the $225 bonus, open a Simply Right® Checking account by 10/31/2020 and do the following:

Open with the promotion code generated at the offer page
Have direct deposits totaling $1,000 or more post within the first 90 days, starting the first business day after opening the account.
Keep your account open for at least 90 days and open at the time of the bonus payment.
Once you meet these conditions, your bonus $225 will be paid within 30 days.

To get the $400 bonus, open a Santander® Premier Plus checking account by 10/31/2020 and do the following:

Open with the promotion code generated at the offer page
Have direct deposits totaling $4,000 or more post within the first 90 days, starting the first business day after opening the account.
Keep your account open for at least 90 days and open at the time of the bonus payment.
Once you meet these conditions, your bonus $400 will be paid within 30 days.

Eligibility

Offer is only available to residents of NH, MA, RI, CT, DE, NY, NJ, or PA.

Offer is not available if any account owner is a current deposit customer of Santander or had a Santander deposit account in the last 12 months prior to account opening.

Fees

Simply Right Checking is the best option. It has a $10 monthly fee that is waived when you make any financial transaction that posts during a calendar month. Includes deposits, withdrawals, transfers or payments.

The Santander® Premier Plus checking account has a $25 monthly fee that is waived with $4,000 in direct deposits, or $25,000 in combined balances in deposits

No early closing fees.

This is the best public bonus we have seen from Santander. Usually we only see the $225 offer, but now you can get a bonus of $400 if you open a Santander® Premier Plus checking account and have direct deposits totaling $4,000 or more post within the first 90 days. You need to keep the monthly direct deposit of $4,000 to waive the monthly fee. Looks like the account needs to be open for at least 4-5 months in order to get the bonus.
