Royal Credit Union is offering a bonus of up to $1,250 for new money market accounts. The bonus comes in two parts, but you need at least $100,000 to participate. Offer is available in two states only, WI and MN. Check out more details below.

Offer

Bring $100,000 or more to open a new money market account and get a $500 reward. Keep the balance at or above $100,000 for 12 months and get an additional $750! Balances of $100,000 or more earn 1.60% APY, with no maintenance fee.

Offer valid on new Money Market accounts opened 1/2/23 through 3/31/23 with an initial minimum deposit of $100,000 in new money. Initial deposit cannot be made from funds contained in an existing Royal account or withdrawn, redeposited, or transferred from a Royal account during this promotional

The first $500 Reward will be deposited into the tax reported for account holder’s Money Market Account upon qualification. The final $750 Reward will be deposited into the tax reported for account holder’s Money Market Account if the Money Market account has maintained a balance of at least $100,000 and remained open for 12 consecutive months from account opening date. Royal reserves the right to withhold final $750 Reward if qualifications are not met based on Royal’s sole discretion during the 12-month time period.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This bonus is not for everyone, as you need to deposit $100,000 into a new Money Market account. The first part is worth doing for those who have that kind of money. You need to deposit $100K, but there’s no requirement to keep it in the account in order to earn $500.

For the other $750, you must keep the money in the account for a year, which gives you only a 1.25% APY on top of the 1.60% this account earns. You’re better off looking at other high-yield accounts.
