Air Italy will end operations and liquidate
The airline said it would continue to operate flights through February 25. Anyone with flights after that will receive a refund after requesting one from the airline. Passengers scheduled to travel before February 25 can also request a refund instead of traveling. Read more here.

Passenger tried to sneak package of tiny dead birds into US at Washington Dulles airport
U.S. Customs and Border Protection agriculture specialists found a package of tiny dead birds in a passenger’s luggage at Washington Dulles International Airport on Jan. 27. The agency disclosed the incident in a Monday report. Read more here (graphic images).
LAX needs 500 people to test out new airport terminal
Los Angeles International Airport is looking for 500 people to come to its newest concourse and behave badly, or sickly, or feebly. It’s all part of a readiness drill to make sure the upcoming Midfield Satellite Concourse will be safe and passenger-ready when it opens this summer. Read more here.
Coronavirus cases spike as China sacks senior officials
Death toll spikes: China’s Hubei province announced 242 new deaths from the novel coronavirus, which is known officially as Covid-19, today — twice as many as on the previous day. New infections there jumped by more than 14,000. Read more here.
