CLEAR Launches Expedited Lanes at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport
CLEAR has launched its expedited security screening lanes at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE). MKE is CLEAR’s first airport in Wisconsin and 45th across the U.S. The launch is expected to create 34 jobs and generate more than $2.6 million in local economic activity.
Tornado Cash blacklisted by Treasury Department
The U.S. Department of Treasury on Monday sanctioned the popular cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash, banning Americans from using a service that the government said, “launders the proceeds of cybercrimes.”
“Despite public assurances otherwise, Tornado Cash has repeatedly failed to impose effective controls designed to stop it from laundering funds for malicious cyber actors on a regular basis and without basic measures to address its risks,” Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said in a statement.
Inflation Reduction Act Provides Tax Credits on Sustainable Airline Fuel
The US Senate on Sunday passed the $430 billion Inflation Reduction Act. The bill heavily incentivizes the research, development, and production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). It includes a tax credit of up to $1.75 per gallon for airlines that continue to switch over to SAF. This is part on an overall plan to lower airline emissions by 20% over the next eight years.
