New Wyndham Rewards Credit Cards
Wyndham and Barclays has refreshed their co-branded credit cards and also launched a new business product. The two current consumer cards have been upgraded and now we have the firs ever Wyndham Rewards business card. All three cards have launched today, September 29, and are available for applications. The cards run on the Visa network and include better earnings at Wyndham properties, restaurants, grocery stores, and bonus points at gas stations.
The cards come with no foreign transaction fees and Visa Signature benefits, which include access to Visa concierge services and travel and auto protections. Existing Cardholders
The old Wyndham cards will no longer be available. Forbes reports that existing cardholders that have the no-fee Wyndham Rewards Visa Card or the annual fee Wyndham Rewards Visa Card, can choose to either keep their existing cards or migrate to one of the Earner cards. However, keep in mind that you can only own either the Earner card or the Earner Plus, not both concurrently.
Guru’s Wrap-up
The new cards are interesting, but probably not very exciting for most people. The main change for the personal cards is the addition of the gas category. However it is the business card that will earn the best rate there, 8 points for every dollar spent on gas. That card also earns 5 points per dollar spent on marketing, advertising and utilities. All three cards also come with an annual points bonus. Keep in mind that now Wyndham has three redemption tiers, 7,500, 15,000 and 30,000.
The signup bonuses are about the same as we have seen in the past for these cards. You can get 30K points with the no-fee Wyndham Rewards Earner Card, while the Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card and Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card have bonuses of 45K. The two personal cards also have a 0% introductory APR for 15 months on balance transfers made within 45 days of account opening, with no fee. That has become rare nowadays.
