Earn Bonus Points for Spending on Membership Rewards Cards
Check your American Express credit cards for new offers that earn you an additional Membership Rewards points for meeting spending thresholds. These offers are for all spending online and in-store, and usually involve large amounts. But they can be an added bonus if you plan to put a lot of spend on your Amex cards. It looks like at best, you will get an extra 1X on top of the rewards your card already earns.
The Offers
There are several different versions of this offer:
- Get 3,000 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $3,000+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $3,000+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term.
- Get 2,000 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $3,500+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $3,500+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term.
- Get 2,000 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $4,000+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $4,000+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term.
- Get 1,500 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $5,500+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $5,500+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term.
- Get 2,500 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $9,000+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $9,000+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term.
- Get 2,000 Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $8,000+ in one or more eligible transactions. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you will have 90 days to spend $8,000+ or more, up to 3 times during the offer term. (HT: A)
Important Terms
- An “eligible purchase” means a purchase made with your enrolled Card within 90 days upon saving the offer to your Card in accordance with these terms.
- Cash advances, balance transfers, other fees and charges such as interest, annual fees and foreign currency conversion fees are not eligible transactions and do not qualify for this offer.
- Must add offer by 12/31/25.
About Amex Offers
Amex Offers are an extra perk on all American Express credit cards, charge cards, and even prepaid cards. You can see these offers in your accounts either as a statement credit or extra Membership Rewards points for spending a certain amount at an eligible merchant. You will need to add the offer to a specific card, and then use that card to get the credit. Here are a few things you should know:- You should add the offer to your preferred card. Amex Offers are normally limited to just one per person. So once you add it to one card, it disappears from other cards.
- You can use the Membership Rewards version and the statement credit version of the same offer.
- Check out a few options to quickly way to add all Amex Offers automatically, or use the Savewise app that even lets you save offers on multiple cards.
- For third party Amex cards you can the American Express Connect site to check for offers and also add them to your cards.

These are not great offers, and definitely not worth pursuing just for these bonus points. But if you are working on a welcome bonus, or plan to make big purchases, then you can earn some extra points along the way. Check your accounts and hopefully you see some better offers, and maybe even free cash from American Express.
