Guru’s Wrap-up
Looks like an interesting offer, although I have never used the app myself. I just signed up now and I see a referral offer for a $25 credit for new users. The Amex Offer link it’s a kind of referral too. You purchase a $50 gift card that you can send to your friends, or yourself. It stacks with the referral bonus.
Using MaxRewards you can often save the same Amex Offer on multiple cards. That means that you can add multiple $50 credits to your account inKind account.
I was a bit skeptical on how it would all work when paying the restaurant bill, but it was actually quite easy. You just open the app and select the restaurant and enter the bill number which should already be printed in the check. It will show you the total, and here you also choose the tip. Looks like the app divides the credit from any referral credit that you might have, so make sure you select which credit you want to pay with. Then select the tip amount, which is always paid from your card. Tap “Pay” and you’ll see the confirmation page. I didn’t have to tell the waiter anything, but this probably varies by restaurant.
You can find eligible restaurants here. I see many options here in NYC, mostly in Manhattan and some in Brooklyn. Let me know if you see a good selection in your area. You can possibly stack it with rewards from Seated app.
