Umm, what? Marriott is finally telling us how to properly pronounce the company’s name, and it is quite different from how I have been saying it all my life.
Marriott has posted a new TikTok video to finally settle the issue, which I never thought existed.
The video featured celebrities including Bebe Rexha, Justin Jefferson, and Tua Tagovailoa pronouncing “Marriott” as “Mary-ott” – the way most of us typically say it. However, it turns out that this is not the correct pronunciation, and many of us are surprised to learn the correct way to say it.
The correct way to pronounce “Marriott” is to make it rhyme with “chariot,” which is a revelation for many of us. Celebrities in the video were also surprised by this pronunciation, and the comments on the video suggest that they are not alone.
