Facebook announced another innovation related to their Messenger. In an attempt to improve the way consumers and business interact, they will enable real-time conversations between the two. The initiative is a partnership with cloud-based customer service platform Zendesk.
It will initially be just a pilot program with online retailers Everlane and Zulily. Consumers can now use Facebook Messenger to receive order information, make complaints and other customer service requests.
“We want to reinvent the way people and businesses are communicating,” David Marcus, Facebook’s vice president of messaging products, said at the company’s F8 conference this week. “Lots of companies have tried to build chat services and a bunch of other things but they’re not that good.”
This is another Messenger related announcement from Facebook. Last week the company said that free peer-to-peer payments will be added to the app.
