Discover has launched a new credit card. It is called the Discover it Miles card and it has some decent mile earning opportunities for the first year. You get 3 miles per dollar for the first twelve months, no limit.

There is a downside however. You only get 1.5x miles every statement and you get the extra 1.5x miles as a lump sum at the end of the year.
Starting at 1 Mile, you can redeem for cash as a electronic deposit to your bank account or for a credit for Travel Purchases on your statement made within in last 180 days.
Great point William. We should always proceed with caution and mix up the MS with some legitimate spending.
12 moths is a long time to wait for your bonus
That’s true Andrew, but unlimited 3% back for a year is a great deal. Even if you receive a lump sum bonus after 12 months. And there’s no fee, so waiting a year doesn’t hurt that much.
You won’t get the bonus if your account is closed, so if you’re putting a lot of spend through there is always the danger that they will close it.
