Coronavirus Latest News
Instead of blasting you with coronavirus (COVID-19) news every hour, I’m putting together a roundup of news that I come across during the day. Here you can read about StubHub refusing cash refunds, TSA numbers show 90% drop in passengers, some Wuhan residents testing positive after recovering, potlucks and speakeasies amid coronavirus outbreak and heroin prices going up.
StubHub updated their policy today. Instead of full refunds for canceled events, they changed it to a COUPON worth 20% more than the value of the ticket.
According to Lisa Farbstein, a spokeswoman for the TSA, the administration’s employees screened only 203,858 passengers across the entire country on March 26. That was a drop of nearly 90% compared to the nearly 2,487,162 people screened by the TSA on the same date in 2019.
Wuhan residents who had tested positive earlier and then recovered from the disease are testing positive for the virus a second time. Based on data from several quarantine facilities in the city, which house patients for further observation after their discharge from hospitals, about 5%-10% of patients pronounced “recovered” have tested positive again.
While most New Yorkers are hunkering in place, others are popping corks and staging parties that defy occupancy and social-distancing edicts. Others are visiting illicit restaurants secretly operating in the city.
“The cartels are having a lot of difficulty producing drugs right now, and when the supply is low the price always goes up,” a US federal law enforcement source told The Post. “China has pretty much stopped production on the chemicals they need to do business.”
