James Beard Award Finalist Chef Coming To CLT Centurion Lounge
American Express will officially be welcoming James Beard Award finalist Chef Gregory Collier as the Executive Chef at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) Centurion Lounge.
Chef Gregory Collier is known for both pushing the boundaries of traditional Southern food and uplifting Black culinary talent through mentorship in the Charlotte area. In 2016, Greg and his wife Subrina, were among the founders of The Soul Food Sessions, a series of innovative dining events designed to acknowledge and support people of color in the culinary arts, restaurant and hospitality industries and beverage services. In 2020, Subrina and Greg served on the President’s Small Business and Entrepreneurs Advisory Council, and the couple also opened their newest concept, Leah & Louise in Charlotte.
Bringing his talents to the Centurion Lounge at CLT, Greg has created a menu that serves modern interpretations of Southern classics that honor Mississippi river valley foodways (Memphis, Jackson, Mississippi and New Orleans). Menu highlights include French Toast topped with a golden raisin compote and black pepper whipped cream, Leah’s Cabbage, a roasted cabbage with andouille sausage and hot honey and much more.
The Centurion Lounge at CLT is a fan favorite and features amenities such as:
- SPECIALTY COCKTAILS: A complimentary full bar with custom cocktails created by renowned Centurion Lounge mixologist Jim Meehan and wines selected by wine authority, Anthony Giglio
- EXPANSIVE SPACE: Spanning more than 13,000 square feet, the lounge contains essentials for business and leisure travelers alike, including dedicated workspaces, power outlets, private phone areas, comfortable seating, and access to high-speed Wi-Fi
- TRAVEL FRIENDLY DESIGNS: Family rooms designed as a respite for parents and kids alike, floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping airfield and downtown skyline views.
