The offer is split between checking and savings. The checking account can earn you up to $1,200, mostly by getting reimbursed for gas purchases made with your Citizens debit card. The savings offer can add another $1,800, with bonuses paid monthly based on how much new money you keep in the account.
How to Earn This Bonus
Earn Up to $1,200 With Checking
Open your first new eligible Citizens checking account:
- One Deposit Checking from Citizens
- Citizens Quest Checking
- Citizens Private Client Checking
Then:
- Receive one or more direct deposits totaling at least $1,000 each month
- Continue meeting that requirement for up to 12 months
- Use your Citizens debit card for gas purchases
- Citizens will give you a bonus equal to your eligible gas purchases
You can earn up to $100 per month, for a maximum of $1,200 over 12 months.
That’s basically up to $100 in free gas every month as long as you meet the monthly direct deposit requirement and follow the offer terms.
Earn Up to $1,800 With Savings
You can also open a new eligible Citizens personal savings account and make a single deposit of new money.
Your monthly bonus depends on the balance you maintain:
- $15,000–$39,999: Earn $50 per month, up to $600
