Citi Adds New Hotel Transfer Partner, Wyndham Rewards

Citi added Choice Privileges as a ThankYou Points hotel redemption option a few weeks ago. That was the first hotel transfer partner for the ThankYou program, but now Citi is adding a second. Starting today, Citi ThankYou cardmembers now have the option to transfer their points to Wyndham Rewards.

U.S. ThankYou cardmembers can now reserve the hotel room of their dreams at Wyndham’s more than 50,000 hotels, vacation club resorts and vacation rentals, including approximately 9,000 hotels and more than 40,000 vacation rentals in more than 90 countries. This real time transfer option provides access to more than 20 Wyndham brands available through Wyndham Rewards including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Grand, Dolce Hotels and Resorts, TRYP and Ramada.

If you have a Citi Premier or Citi Prestige card, you can transfer ThankYou points to Wyndham Rewards at a ratio of 1:1. Other cards such as Citi Rewards+, Double Cash, and ThankYou Preferred only get you a transfer ratio of 1:0.8 That means that 1,000 ThankYou points would get you 800 Wyndham Rewards points.

Guru’s Wrap-up

More transfer partners are always a good thing for a program such as Citi ThankYou. The two latest additions,  Choice Privileges and Wyndham Rewards, give cardholders some options for hotel stays around the country and the world. With Wyndham you need 7,500, 15,00 or 30,000 points for a full night. So make sure you get a good value if you decide to transfer points.
