New Chase Ink Business Premier Credit Card

Update: The card is now available for applications online.

Today, Chase officially announced the Chase Ink Business Premier(SM) credit card, the newest business card to be added to the Chase Ink suite of products. The new card has been rumored for a while now and most details were already revealed.

It is designed to better meet the spending needs of larger businesses. The Chase Ink Business Premier will be the first Pay in Full business credit card by Chase in a while. It offers built-in flexibility for greater spend potential. This will allow business owners to either pay their balance in full, or use the new Flex for Business feature, which will enable them to have payment flexibility.

Applications will first be exclusively available to Chase for Business customers that have an existing Business Relationship Manager starting December 14, 2021, with plans for a broader launch in early 2022. So now let’s get into this Chase Ink Business Premier review and see if this is the right card for you.

Update: The waitlist link now shows a countdown. Looks like the card will launch publicly on February 9, 2022.

Reward Structure

The new Chase Ink Business Premier earns cash back or Ultimate Rewards points that have very limited use. You can’t combine them with the points earned from other Ultimate Rewards cards such as Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Ink Preferred. So you have no option of transferring the cash back earned with your Chase Ink Business Premier to travel partners.

The Ultimate Rewards points you earn with your Chase Ink Business Premier are only redeemable for cash back, or travel and gift cards through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal. That means that this card is basically a cash back card.

Eligibility

Chase cardmembers who currently have or have had a Chase credit card in any Rewards Program associated with this offer, may not be eligible for a second Chase credit card in the same Rewards Program. Chase cardmembers currently receiving promotional pricing, or Chase cardmembers with a history of only using their current or prior Chase card for promotional pricing offers, are not eligible for a second Chase credit card with promotional pricing.

If approved for an account, your credit access line will be at least $10000. We may request additional information for a credit access line above $25,000.

Chase Ink Business Premier Review: Guru’s Wrap-up

Nowadays we have several 2% credit cards and even a few options with no annual fee. The Chase Ink Business Premier card comes with a $195 annual fee instead, but it also gives you 2.5% total cash back on every purchase of $5,000 or more and 5% total cash back on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards. And there’s no limit on the cash back you can earn, unlike the Chase Ink Cash or Chase Ink Preferred.

The signup bonus on the Chase Ink Business Premier card is also a good one at $1,000 after $10,000 spend in three months. So that will be a good reason to at least get the card for the first year. However, after that, the card probably makes sense only for bigger businesses that spend more than other Ink cards’ limits. It gets even more rewarding if your business often makes large transactions of $5,000 or more.

However, it is not a card for travel enthusiasts. You can not transfer points to travel partners and there are really no travel benefits. You only get the standard protections that we see on most cards. Overall I think we all expected better when we heard that Chase was coming out with a new business card.

  1. Chase Ink Bold was a thing, no? This is not the first charge card by any means.

    1. Good point. Just the first in a long time. I had the Ink Bold myself a while back until it was converted to Ink Plus
