• Earn 80,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening.
• Earn 5,000 bonus points when you add your first authorized user and make your first purchase in the first three months from account opening.

Enjoy a $0 Introductory Annual Fee† for the first year, then $49 a year.

Eligibility

This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.

This card in not subject to the Chase 5/24 rule, so it should be relatively easy to get approved.

Card Benefits

This is one of the best cards to hold onto long term. Besides the sign-up bonus, you also receive extra perks that give the card a lot of value. You receive a Free Night after each account anniversary year at over 5,000 hotels worldwide. That’s a whole lot for just paying a $49 annual fee.

You also get Platinum Elite status as long as you’re a Select credit cardmember and Automatic 10% point rebate on redemptions, up to 100,000 points each year.

Earning points on the card is not really worthwhile. Here’s the earning rates:

• Earn 5 points per $1 spent after you stay at an IHG hotel.
• Earn 2 points per $1 spent at gas stations, grocery stores & restaurants.
• Earn 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

This is the best public offer we have seen for the IHG Rewards Club credit card. Sometimes you’re able to get a 80K offer with a $50 statement credit to show up by logging into IHG account and doing a dummy booking.

This is a great card to keep long term, and this is a good time to apply if you had your eye on it. The spending requirement is only $1,000 so it should be doable for everyone. You might have to forgo the 5K AU bonus if 5/24 is an issue for the authorized user.
