Chase Dining Offers 10X Points for Sapphire Cardholders
Chase is offering a new earning opportunity for Chase Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cardholders through the new Chase Dining option. Eligible cardholders can earn 10X Ultimate Rewards points for every dollar, up to a total of $500 in Chase Dining purchases. This includes making reservations, or ordering takeout or delivery through Tock. There are also options for a Virtual Dining Series experience.
You’ll earn 10x Ultimate Rewards points total, which means that Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders get an additional 7X points on top of the 3X they already earn. Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders get an extra 8X points on top of the 2X they usually earn. This Chase Dining promotion runs from February 15 to June 30, 2021.
It takes up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for points to post to be added to your Ultimate Rewards balance.
Chase Dining
Chase Dining is a new program that lets you make reservations or place orders through the Chase app or website. You can pay with your Chase credit card or redeem your points for local takeout, virtual dining experiences, outdoor seating reservations and more. And remember that through April 30, 2021, your points are worth even more when you redeem them for dining through Chase Dining in Ultimate Rewards.
Chase has teamed up with Tock to offer the booking and ordering capability. That means that you will probably not find as many options as you would expect. Here’s a screenshot of the choices that I get for New York City.
You have the option of paying with your card or using Chase Ultimate Rewards. Paying with your Chase Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve is the better option, since you earn 10X and then can redeem those points for the purchases at up to 1.5 cents each.
Guru’s Wrap-up
A good opportunity to earn extra points for dining or takeout and delivery orders. The downside is that you have to order through Chase Dining in the app, which is powered by Tock. That means that most likely you will have a very limited selection. But also check the Seated app, because I see some restaurants that overlap. So you can double dip.
Let me know how useful Chase Dining is in other parts of the country, and whether you will be taking advantage of this promotion.
