Chase $500 Checking & Savings Bonus, Public Link

This is an offer that comes around often from Chase, either online or by email. Some people will see it when logging into Chase accounts but now there’s a public link. You just need to enter your email and it will send you a coupon for a $500 bonus offer, $300 for checking and $200 for savings. These accounts must be opened in-branch by 6/15/17.

Offer Requirements

The offer gives you a $500 total bonus, but it comes in two parts that can be done separately. You’ll receive $300 for opening a checking account and $200 for a savings account. You can do either one or both of them.

  • Get $300 when you open a new Chase Total Checking account and set up direct deposit
  • Get $200 when you open a Chase Savings account, deposit $15,000 or more in new money within 10 business days, and maintain a $15,000 balance for 90 days

You need to get a coupon and apply in branch. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT.

Eligibility

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers, those with fiduciary accounts, or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance. You can receive only one new checking and one savings account opening related bonus each calendar year and only one bonus per account.

Fees

Both the checking and the savings account comes with monthly fees, but can be waived.

Chase Total Checking has a $12 Monthly Service Fee that is waived when you do at least one of the following each statement period:

  1. Have monthly direct deposits totaling $500 or more made to this account; OR,
  2. Keep a minimum daily balance of $1,500 or more in your checking account; OR,
  3. Keep an average beginning day balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying Chase checking, savings and other balances.

Chase Savings has a $5 Monthly Service Fee that is waived when you do at least one of the following each statement period:

  • Keep a minimum daily balance of $300 or more in your savings account; OR,
  • Have at least one repeating automatic transfer of $25 or more from your Chase personal checking account (available only through Chase Online Banking); OR
  • Have a linked Chase Premier Plus Checking, Chase Premier Platinum Checking, or Chase Private Client Checking account.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is one of the best bank offers out there and although you can usually find coupons on eBay or sometimes Chase sends them to you, a direct link makes it much easier.

The Checking part is the easiest bonus to receive. You will receive a $300 bonus for opening a checking account and completing a direct deposit of any amount, simple as that. The $200 savings bonus on the other hand comes with a 15K deposit that you will have to keep it in the account for at least 90 days.

The offer is available in branch only, but it is worth the trip. Make sure you print the offer before heading to the bank.

  1. I just this week found out I will not be getting the Chase bonus because I used my 360 account to transfer money and that doesn’t qualify. This very week same thing happened with BofA. First time ever, but now twice.
