Guru’s Wrap-up
This is the highest welcome offer we have seen for the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card but it also comes with a large spending requirement. You nee to spend a total of $20,000 within the first year in order to get 100,000 miles. That is a bonus of 5x per every dollar spend, and you also get the regular 2x miles per dollar that the card earns on all purchases. That is a great earning rate, but you have to make sure that you can manage that kind of spending.
This new offer also lets you get just half the bonus if you spend $3,000 within the first three months. That’s much easier to do, and you don’t have to pick between the two offers. You will receive 50K miles when you spend $3K and then the incremental 50k once you spend the additional $17K.
Capital one points can be transferred to several partners and can also be used for purchases on Amazon. The latter is especially a good deal when there are promotions like this going on, where you can get $20 off $80 for using points.
