Capital One Adds New Rule for Venture Card Family
Capital One has added new language to the welcome bonus terms on three Venture credit cards. This is similar to the card family restrictions on American Express credit cards.
Capital One sent an email today (October 29, 2025) clarifying new bonus restrictions, as they were originally showing different terms throughout the site. As of today, this is the policy:
-
- Venture X: Customers are not eligible for the Venture X bonus if they have earned the Venture X bonus within the last 48 months
- Venture: Customers are not eligible for the Venture bonus if they have earned the Venture X bonus or the Venture bonus within the last 48 months
- VentureOne: Customers are not eligible for the VentureOne bonus if they have earned the Venture X, Venture, or VentureOne bonus within the last 48 months
As you can see, this is similar to the family restrictions for the Amex Platinum, Gold and Green cards for example. So if you plan on getting all three cards, then you need to start with VentureOne, then Venture, and then finally the Venture X card.
The new language was probably introduced in recent days, so it’s not clear if it’s being enforced yet. It also has not been updated everywhere, as some pages still show the old terms.
