American Express launched its first ever checking account last month, called Kabbage Checking. This is an account for small businesses that offers an impressive annual percentage yield of 1.10%. But now there is also a $300 bonus for new accounts, with very easy requirements. The offer was first sent out by email to select customers only. But now there’s also a public link that should work for everyone. Let’s check the details of this Amex Kabbage Checking bonus.
Update: This offer is actually targeted and you must have received the offer directly by mail or email, even though there was a public page and the offer shows at the default link for the account. It is “only available to a limited segment of customers as an initial test.” This is what I was told by a communications representative at Kabbage by email.

To be eligible to earn the $300 cash deposit, you must:
- Apply and be approved for Kabbage Checking account by 9/8/2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET and
- Successfully complete 5 debit card purchases within 60 days of account opening.
Any transactions that have not cleared within 60 days of account opening do not qualify. Your Kabbage Checking account must be open at the time of fulfilment of this cash deposit. Once you have completed all the above requirements, the $300 cash deposit will be deposited into your Kabbage Checking account within 8-12 weeks of the date your account was opened.

I applied and was turned down. I wonder if that has anything to do with being dumped by Serve, a few years ago lol.
ohh! any specific reason given?
Has anyone received the bonus if not targeted directly?
I called and they told me that if you applied after 7/18 you will get the bonus. But they couldn’t tell me anything specific about my application. I opened the account already two days ago and i will compete requirements soon. The bonus was there on the page, and I have a screenshot too. So I’m filing a CFPB complaint if they don’t issue it.
