Amex Adds New Bonus Restrictions for Cash Back Cards

American Express recently added welcome bonus restrictions to consumer Platinum cards and consumer Delta SkyMiles cards. These are restrictions that limit new bonuses based on the family of cards.

Now cash back cards are getting similar terms. Blue Cash Everyday now has terms that limit bonus eligibility for those who the Cash Magnet, Blue Cash Preferred, or the Morgan Stanley Blue Cash Preferred. The Blue Cash Preferred terms now include the Morgan Stanley Blue Cash Preferred. Cash Magnet and Morgan Stanley Blue Cash Preferred terms have no changes yet.

Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express

You may not be eligible to receive the welcome offer, intro APRs, and intro plan fees if you have or have had this Card, the Cash Magnet® Card, the Blue Cash Preferred® Card, the Morgan Stanley Blue Cash Preferred® American Express Card or previous versions of this Card. You also may not be eligible to receive the welcome offer, intro APRs, and intro plan fees based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors.
