American Airlines Clawing Back 25K AAdvantage Business Bonus
American Airlines has started notifying AAdvantage Business members that it is clawing the 25,000 bonus miles awarded through a recent promotion.
According to emails sent to affected members, American determined that some accounts did not meet the eligibility requirements of the promotion. As a result, the 25,000 bonus miles have been removed from those accounts.
As a goodwill gesture, American says it will deposit 5,000 AAdvantage miles into affected AAdvantage Business accounts to acknowledge the inconvenience.
The airline also says that all mileage transfers from AAdvantage Business accounts to personal AAdvantage accounts completed on July 8, July 9, or before 10:30 a.m. CST on July 10, 2026, will be reversed. Members who transferred miles during that period will need to submit a new transfer request.
