Alaska Airlines Quietly Increases Some First Class Award Prices

Alaska Airlines has updated its Mileage Plan award chart, increasing redemption rates for some first class routes. This is not a huge devaluation but it’s still a change without proper notice to members. It could negatively affect those who use these specific redemptions, with costs going up by as much as 35% in some cases.

Changes will go into effect next month. The current rates are still in place for bookings through February 28. Rates will increase for First Class travel on select redemptions to North America, Hawaii and Central America. However, the number of miles required for main cabin awards, saver-level first class, or partner awards is not changing.
