U.S. Bank Launches New Business Essentials Cards With Bonuses Up to $1,000
U.S. Bank has launched two new small business credit cards, the U.S. Bank Business Essentials Visa and U.S. Bank Business Essentials Plus Visa Signature. , At the same time, U.S. Bank has also discontinued the Altitude Power and Leverage business cards as part of this change.
Both new cards earn a base 2% cash back on eligible purchases, with higher earning rates available for businesses that also keep qualifying balances in an eligible U.S. Bank business checking account.
U.S. Bank Business Essentials Visa
The no-annual-fee version comes with a $500 welcome bonus after spending $5,000 in the first 150 days. It earns unlimited 2% cash back on purchases and also offers 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 12 billing cycles.
If you maintain at least $10,000 in qualifying U.S. Bank business checking balances, the card earns 2.5% total cash back on the first $10,000 in eligible purchases each billing cycle.
The card also earns 6% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly through the U.S. Bank Travel Center.

U.S. Bank Business Essentials Plus Visa Signature
The Plus version has a $295 annual fee and comes with a $1,000 welcome bonus after spending $15,000 in the first 150 days. It also earns a base 2% cash back on eligible purchases.
Cardholders with qualifying U.S. Bank business checking balances can earn:
- 2.5% total cash back with $15,000-$74,999 in qualifying balances
- 3% total cash back with $75,000-$149,999
- 3.5% total cash back with $150,000 or more
Those enhanced rates apply on up to $200,000 in eligible purchases per year.
The Plus card also automatically earns 5% cash back in your top eligible spending category, up to $200,000 annually. Eligible categories include accounting and tax services, airlines, cell phone providers, dining, entertainment, office supply stores, shipping, and utilities.
It also earns 10% back on prepaid hotel and car rental bookings through the U.S. Bank Travel Center.

The more interesting part of these cards is the ability to increase the base earning rate above 2% if you already keep significant business deposits with U.S. Bank.
