Indiana Man Receives $8.2M Stimulus Check
Charles Calvin, a volunteer firefighter in New Chicago in Indiana, is one of the lucky ones who have already received the stimulus payment from the government. But he was even more lucky than his peers, as his payment was for a whopping $8.2M instead of the $1,700 that he was expecting.
He said he made a withdrawal of $200 from a Family Express ATM. When he checked his balance on the receipt he saw that somehow he had $8.2 million left in his account. “Holy crap, this has got to be wrong,” Calvin told The Times of Northwest Indiana. He said that at first, he thought is was just a mistake from the ATM, but after he ran his card again the exact same amount was shown.

However his happiness was short lived. On Monday, he called his bank and was told the money was no longer in his account. He still has his $1,700 stimulus money though.
He was in good spirits about it. “It kind of sucks,” he said. “You go from being a millionaire one second then back to being broke again. But hey, once you’re poor you don’t have anywhere else to go but up.”
