US Bank has a new $200 checking account bonus available. This is one of the best offers that they have and the requirements for the bonus are pretty easy. They have these offers usually every summer.
Bonus Requirements
Earn $200 when you open a new consumer Silver, Gold, or Platinum Checking Package between June 24 and August 21, 2017.
To get started, request a promotion code & enter it here, before applying.
To qualify for bonus you need to also complete one of the following within 60 days of account opening:
- Recurring direct deposits of $500 or more OR
- Two Online Bill Pay transactions of $25 each or more
Bonus will be reported as interest earned on IRS form 1099-INT and recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes. Offer is not valid if you have an existing U.S. Bank consumer checking account, had a U.S. Bank consumer checking account in the last six months, or received other U.S. Bank bonus offers in 2016.
Fees
Silver Checking Package has a $6.95 monthly fee when you have online statements. This can be waived with a Savings account and either combined monthly direct deposits totaling $1,000+, or an average balance of at least $1500.
If you have a US Bank credit card then you should open a Gold Checking Package. It has a $10.95 fee but there’s no monthly maintenance fee with a U.S. Bank personal loan, line or credit card. You can also waive the fee on the Gold Checking Package through this program.

It looks like you need to be within a certain distance of a branch in order for them to approve it. I don’t have any in my state and the declined my application.
I was able to get the bonus last time around, $150, and I don’t have a branch within 100 miles (NYC). I haven’t tried yet for this bonus. Thanks for the heads up though, I’ll look into it.
