Uber, Lyft & Via Suspend Shared Rides
Uber, Lyft and Via are temporarily suspending shared rides in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Uber is pausing its pool service, and Lyft and Via are suspending their shared rides feature.
These services let passengers headed in the same direction share a ride in exchange for cheaper fares.
All three companies are still operating their regular ride services, and UberEats is still offering food delivery.
While you will not have the cheaper rides as an option, or be able to use commuter benefits cards that only work on shared rides, this is a necessary step during the coronavirus pandemic. You should be avoiding unnecessary travel altogether.
