(DEAD) Trustco Bank is offering a $100 bonus for new checking accounts in FL, MA, NJ, NY and VT. To receive the $100, you must open Home Town Premier Checking Account with Direct Deposit. You need a minimum of $50 to open a Trustco Bank Home Town Premier Checking Account.

Direct deposits must be the entire amount from a recurring Payroll, Social Security, and/or Pension (minimum of $100 monthly Direct Deposit). Direct Deposit must be completed within 60 calendar days from account opening.

$100 will be paid within 4 weeks of first direct deposit. $5.00 monthly fee will apply on account if direct deposit is cancelled.

The problem is that we don’t know if a simple ACH will count as direct deposit.You also need to open this account in branch, which makes it a hassle if you don’t have a branch nearby. I’m passing on this this the closest location is about 15 miles away.
