TransUnion Breach Exposes Consumers’ Financial Information

On November 7, 2022, TransUnion LLC reported a data breach with the Massachusetts Attorney General. According to TransUnion, the breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers and driver’s license numbers being compromised. TransUnion has also sent out data breach letters to all affected parties, informing them of the incident and what they can do to protect themselves. The total number of people affected by the TransUnion data breach has not been revealed.

Letter were sent out on November 7, so I would assume that whoever is affected must have received them already.

TransUnion is a consumer credit reporting agency based in Chicago, Illinois. The company collects and assembles information on over one billion consumers in more than thirty countries including 200 million Americans. TransUnion has yet to post a notice about the breach on its website.
