T-Mobile Customers Can Get Free Netflix

Netflix announced Friday it is raising the prices on its plans in the United States and Canada. The company said the price increase would help pay for new programming to compete in the crowded streaming TV market. In the United States, the subscription price for the standard plan rose $1.50 to $15.49. The basic plan went up $1 to $9.99 and the premium plan increased $2 to $19.99

If you are a T-Mobile customer, you can get Netflix for free however, even now with the price increase. The program is called “Netflix On Us”. If you subscribe to one of its Magenta Subscription Plans, T-Mobile will be giving you a free Netflix premium subscription for up to 2 screens.

T-Mobile has three subscription plans with options up to 5 lines: Essentials, Magenta, and Magenta Max. The Basic plan or Essentials does not include “Netflix On Us”. Only the Magenta and Magenta Max plans are eligible.

Eligible plans & requirements

If you have one of the following taxes and fees included plans, you get a single subscription on your account of Netflix on Us! Check out what Netflix subscription you get with your T-Mobile plan. For more details about the differences between Netflix plans, visit the Netflix Plans and Pricing page. The T-Mobile discount page has not been updated yet with the new Netflix prices, but I would assume the following pricing structure.

Magenta plans

  • 2+ lines: We cover up to $9.99 towards the Netflix Basic (1 screen, SD) subscription priced at $9.99.
  • You can upgrade to Netflix Standard (2 screens, HD), priced at $15.49, or Netflix Premium (4 screens, UHD), priced at $19.99, and we cover up to $9.99, which means you only pay $5.50 for Netflix Standard or $10 for Netflix Premium!!

Magenta MAX plans

  • Single lines:
    • We cover up to $9.99 towards the Netflix Basic subscription priced at $9.99
    • You can upgrade to Netflix Standard, priced at $15.49, or Netflix Premium, priced at $19.99, and we cover up to $9.99, which means you only pay $5.50 for Netflix Standard or $10 for Netflix Premium!
  • 2+ lines:
    • We cover up to $15.49 towards the Netflix Standard subscription priced at $15.49.
    • You can upgrade to Netflix Premium, priced at $19.99, and we cover up to $12.99, which means you only pay $7!

Magenta Plus, ONE w/ ONE Plus plans

  • 2+ lines: We cover up to $15.49 towards the Netflix Standard subscription priced at $15.49.
  • You can upgrade to Netflix Premium, priced at $19.99, and we cover up to $12.99, which means you only pay $7!

ONE plans

  • 2+ lines: We cover up to $10.99 towards the Netflix Standard subscription priced at $15.49 which means you only pay $4.50!
  • You can upgrade to Netflix Premium, priced at $19.99, and we cover up to $10.99, which means you only pay $9! .

How to Activate Your Netflix Subscription

From the T-Mobile app:

  1. Tap ACCOUNT.
  2. Tap ADD-ONS next to the Primary Account Holder’s line.
  3. Tap MANAGE DATA & ADD-ONS.
  4. Under SERVICES, tap the subscription you want—Basic, Standard, or Premium (Standard or Premium for T-Mobile ONE), and then tap Continue.
  5. Tap Sign up for Netflix, or SUBMIT if you’re upgrading your subscription.
  6. You’ll be rerouted to Netflix to continue the process:• If you’ve streamed Netflix on your device: you’ll receive a page with sign-in account credentials pre-populated. Confirm the correct Netflix acount info is displayed before you tap Accept. If it’s the wrong account you’ll have to delete your browser cookies and cache and start over. Note: you can also create a new account by selecting “Not yet a member? Sign up.”
    • If you haven’t streamed Netflix on your device: you’ll receive a new customer page, where you can create a Netflix account. Note: If you want to use an existing account, select “Already a member? Sign in.”

Online at T-Mobile.com:

  1. Log in to My T-Mobile
  2. Tap ACCOUNT.
  3. Tap ADD-ONS next to the Primary Account Holder’s line.
  4. Tap on MANAGE DATA & ADD-ONS.
  5. Tap the subscription you want—Basic, Standard, or Premium (Stanard or Premium for T-Mobile ONE).
  6. In the pop-up screen, you’ll see a list of the lines on your account. Click ADD SERVICES and then scroll down and click NEXT.
  7. On the Review Changes page, choose when you’d like the change to take effect: Today’s date, Current bill cycle, or Next bill cycle, from the drop-down.
  8. Click the CHECKBOX to agree to the T-Mobile Service Agreement, Terms & Conditions, and Electronic Signature Terms, near the bottom of the page.
  9. Click SUBMIT CHANGES.
  10. On the Order Confirmation page, below “Your Account’s Now Eligible for Netflix!”, click the NEXT STEP – SIGN UP button.
  11. On the next page, click the Sign up for Netflix button.
  12. You’ll be rerouted to Netflix to continue the process:
