SPG and Hertz have partnered together and you can now earn Starpoints on rentals. With this new partnership you will receive up to 35% off base rates and 200 Starpoints on Hertz rentals.
Plus, when you achieve Marriott Rewards or SPG Platinum elite status, you’ll be eligible to receive Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Five Star® status. Marriott Platinum Premier and SPG Platinum Ambassador members will receive President’s Circle status.
To earn Starpoints, SPG members must add their SPG account number to their car rental reservations or book at spg.com/hertz.

It’s always good to see new partnerships emerge. This one was expected, since Hertz was already a Marriott partner, but the earning rate is not good at all at just 200 Starpoints. You can certainly do better with other Hertz partners. However, if you have status with SPG this should be good news since you can match for Five Star or President’s Circle status.
