[Expired] Santander Bank, $350 Checking Account Bonus (Targeted Mailer)

Santander Bank has sent out a new targeted offer that can get you a $350 bonus when you open a new personal checking account. You need a unique promo code from the offer in order to apply.

Bonus Requirements

Get $350 when you open a new Simply Right^® Checking ($25 minimum opening deposit), Santander Basic Checking ($25 minimum opening deposit), or Santander Premier Plus Checking ($50 minimum opening deposit) account by 11/30/17, and have direct deposits totaling $2,000 or more post to this account within the first 90 days of account opening.

You can apply online, in-branch or by phone.

Direct Deposits

Direct deposits include deposits made by your employer or a federal or state government agency or retirement benefits administrator and generally payments made by corporations or other organizations. It does not include deposits to your Account that are made by an individual using online banking or an Internet payment provider such as PayPal.

That’s the fine print in the offer, which is pretty specific compared to other banks. Best option is to direct deposit your paycheck if that’s possible, but ACHs have also worked in the past, with the same language in terms.

Eligibility

You must have a promo code in order to qualify, but it seems that the same promo code can be used more than once, so if you were targeted, apply for yourself and then share it with friends and family if possible.

Offer is not available if any account owner is a current deposit customer of Santander or had a Santander deposit account in the last 12 months prior to account opening.

Offer is only available to residents of NH. MA, RI, CT, DE, NY, NJ and PA.

Fees

Simply Right Checking account is the best option. Simply make one transaction – a deposit, withdrawal, transfer, or payment – that posts to the account during the calendar month to waive the $10 Monthly Fee.

Must keep account open for 90 days to receive bonus.
