HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard Will Earn 3x on Groceries

If you have the HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard, you can now earn 3x points on groceries. The extra earning applies to purchases made from May 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020.

The card currently earns:

  • 3X Rewards Program Points on new travel purchases – including airline, hotels, and car rentals
  • 2X dining Points You’ll earn 2X Points on new dining purchases
  • 1X Points on all other purchases You’ll earn 1X Points on all other purchases

Here’s the details of the additional earning for groceries:

From May 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020, you will earn three (3) Rewards Program Points on purchases made at stores or retailers classified under the following merchant category codes (MCC): 5300 Wholesale Clubs, 5411 Grocery Stores / Supermarkets, 5422 Freezer and Locker Meat Provisioners, 5441 Candy Stores / Confectionery Stores / Nut Stores, 5451 Dairy Products Stores, 5462 Bakeries and 5499 Misc. Food Stores – Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets.

HSBC is also making the rideshare credits easier to use for cardholders. The $100 credit can be used for Uber Eats, with a maximum of $20 per order.
