Hertz paid top executives $16 million in bonuses ahead of its bankruptcy filing
Hertz paid a total of $16.2 million to 340 executives on May 19 as part of a plan to keep them in place while the company attempts to reorganize, the company announced in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The executives will be required to return the money should they leave Hertz on their own before March 31, 2021.

As federal lawmakers debate another relief package for the coronavirus pandemic that’s put approximately 35 million Americans out of work, a new study shows how generous (or not) the added unemployment benefits were in the initial stimulus bill addressing the crisis. Two-thirds (68%) of jobless workers would bring home more money from their state unemployment insurance plus the $600 weekly supplement from the federal government than they would have on the job, according to University of Chicago researchers.
NYC bills clamping down on delivery apps like DoorDash, Grubhub signed into law
A package of bills aimed at helping small businesses struggling during the coronavirus outbreak was signed into law by Mayor de Blasio on Tuesday. One bill caps fees from delivery apps like Grubhub at 15% per order. Fees for additional services like marketing are limited to 5% per order.
American Schedules 777-300ER On Surprising Route
American Airlines flies to London Heathrow from up to 10 US cities. Almost all of those cities are American Airlines hubs, with two exceptions — Boston and Raleigh-Durham. Well, for the upcoming winter schedule, American Airlines has scheduled the Boeing 777-300ER daily between Raleigh-Durham and London. As of now the plane is assigned on the route from October 25, 2020, through March 27, 2021.
