This is a roundup of news and other interesting pieces that I’ve come across over the last few days. Read about the new owners of Silicon Valley Bank, fees for Air France & KLM business class, MTA fines at Grand Central Madison, Wyndham Palmas transformation, and T-Mobile apparently has retention offers.
Silicon Valley Bank Sold to First Citizens
First Citizens Banc said on Sunday that it would acquire Silicon Valley Bank. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation seized control of Silicon Valley Bank on March 10, after a run on deposits left it insolvent, making it the country’s largest bank failure since the 2008 financial crisis. The F.D.I.C. had since been looking for a buyer for the bank, which was the country’s 16th largest when it collapsed.
Air France & KLM Add Seat Fees In Business Class
Air France and KLM will soon start charging for advance seat assignments in business class, in what’s being referred to as the Advance Seat Reservation (ASR) scheme. This is the same policy that Air France and KLM currently have in economy.
MTA will fine you up to $50 for sitting too long at Grand Central Madison
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is itching for riders to come to the brand-new Grand Central Madison terminal, but those who plop down on a bench for too long risk being handed a fine of up to $50.
Wyndham Palmas Beach & Golf Resort Transformation
Wyndham Palmas Beach & Golf Resort, an intimate upscale resort in Puerto Rico, is currently undergoing a dramatic transformation, set to be unveiled on May 18, 2023. The multi-million-dollar renovation comes as the oceanfront property was recently acquired by LionGrove, a leading hospitality investment firm. The resort’s 107 contemporary guest rooms and suites, with a new design inspired by the surrounding area’s natural beauty, will feature upscale amenities and breathtaking views of the tranquil, tropical landscape around the Playa, Costa, and Lagos buildings of the hotel.
Retention Promo For T-Mobile Customers
As of March 24th, T-Mobile is offering a one-time retention credit to customers considering cancelling a line. According to an internal document sent to us here at The Mobile Report, T-Mobile now has a silent “unscripted” retention promo available to customers looking to cancel.
