Target’s new loyalty program is about to roll out nationwide. Target Circle will be available to shoppers in the United States beginning October 6. Program perks include earning 1% on Target purchases, personalized deals and early access to its sales. With the new Target loyalty program you also get free next-day delivery on household essentials; and 50% off a first-year membership for Shipt, Target’s $99-a-year same-day delivery service.
This follows an 18-month test in six cities, where the program already has 2 million members.
The program is free. Target will begin automatically enrolling members that have Target.com and Redcard accounts. To use it, customers can swipe a barcode from the Target app or provide their phone number at checkout. It replaces Cartwheel, a separate discount program, and will offer a “more seamless, intuitive shopping experience,” Target says.
