Marriott Bonvoy Soft Landing for Elites
Marriott Bonvoy will extend a soft landing to Elite Marriott Bonvoy members who did not re-achieve Elite status in 2023. In other words, Elite members who are not able to maintain the same Elite status in 2023, will be downgraded only one tier.
The qualification period for Marriott Bonvoy elite status is based on calendar year. Members who achieved their existing Elite status again in 2023 will have their current status renewed through February 2025. Members who did not re-achieve their existing Elite status in 2023 will be downgraded starting in March 2024 and can enjoy that Elite status through February 2025.
In January 2024, all Members will have their 2023 loyalty activity evaluated. The the soft landing works as follows for those who did not re-achieve their existing Elite status:
- Ambassador members will get Titanium status through February 2025.
- Titanium members will get Platinum status through February 2025.
- Platinum members will get Gold status through February 2025.
- Gold members will get Silver status through February 2025.
This is valuable especially for some of the top Elites such as Ambassador and Titanium members. They will drop to Titanium and Platinum respectively. That means that they will be able to enjoy some valuable perks such as free breakfast and lounge access for example.
