JSX Expands Service in Texas With More Flights to Austin and Houston

JSX is a startup that offers semiprivate flights from private terminals for the cost of a commercial ticket. The carrier has been slowly expanding its operations in the West Coast, and now it has announced new service to Austin, Texas, from Dallas Love Field while doubling its Houston service to four daily flights.

JSX boards at the same areas as private-jet operators, bypassing congested main terminals and time-consuming security queues. Its Texas fares begin at $129 each way, Bloomberg reports, and rise based on demand, but typically remain under $400.

The airline caters to urbanites who want something better than the time consuming air travel experience offered by major airlines. Its main selling point is the ease and comfort of the “hop on jet service” away from busy terminals, which means travelers can save two hours ore more each time they fly.

JSX has a fleet of 23 Embraer SA ERJ145 jets. Its planes are configured to have 20 fewer seats than most airlines would have in that jet. Onboard, there’s no Wi-Fi, but snacks and cocktails are complimentary. But one of the main drawbacks is that JSX doesn’t have many daily flights, and its coverage area is quite small for now.
