Hyatt Expands List of Hotels That Don’t Accept Suite Upgrade Awards (2 Properties Added)

Hyatt Suite Upgrade Awards Exclusion List

One of the most valuable perks of World of Hyatt is the Suite Upgrade Award, which lets eligible members confirm a standard suite at the time of booking for stays of up to seven nights. These awards are earned through Hyatt’s Milestone Rewards program (starting at 40 nights), and can be used on paid and award stays.

Unfortunately, Hyatt has continued expanding the list of hotels where these certificates can’t be used. The latest additions in July 2026 are Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman and Alila Napa Valley (HT: Loyalty Lobby). Let’s see the full list below.

Hyatt has gradually been adding more properties to its Suite Award Ineligible Properties list, and that trend continues with the latest update. While Suite Upgrade Awards remain one of the strongest elite benefits, they’re becoming less useful as more hotels opt out.
