Hilton Makes It Easier for Diamond Members to Gift Status
Hilton Honors has a cool option for its top tier elites. If you have Diamond or Lifetime Diamond status you can gift elite status to another member of the loyalty program. But there’s also an additional requirement besides having status. In order to be able to gift status to someone, you need to have 60 or more nights at Hilton hotels in a calendar year.
Hilton is now expanding this benefit temporarily for more elite members. You will be be able to gift status without needing to complete the annual night requirement. I covered this quickly in this article yesterday, but thought it might me worth pointing it out separately as some readers could ne interested in it.
Gift Hilton Status
Hilton Honors is extending a one-time opportunity to its global Diamond and Lifetime Diamond members. Beginning next week until January 31, 2021, these elite members will be able to gift status for one year to a family member or friend.
Hilton Diamond members can gift Hilton Honors Gold to a person of their choosing and Lifetime Diamond members can gift Diamond status. More details about how to participate in this promotion will be provided next week.
Hilton Honors Elite Status
As a Hilton Honors member, you’ll receive exclusive perks when you stay at our more than 5,900 hotels around the world. When you sign up you start as a basic Member, and then there’s Silver, Gold, Diamond and Lifetime Diamond. Here’s a quick look at the benefits that you get get with each tier.
To earn Gold status you need to complete 20 stays, 40 nights annually or earn 75,000 base points. For Diamond you need 30 stays or 60 nights or 120,000 base points. But you can skip these requirements and earn Hilton Honors Elite Status with American Express Hilton Cards quickly.
The Hilton Honors American Express Card gets you Silver, Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card gets you Gold and the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card that comes with a $450 annual fee, gets your Diamond status.

Hilton Honors elite status is not the hardest to come by. But it doesn’t get any easier than just have someone gift it to you. Without the 60 night requirement, this promotion opens up this opportunity to more Hilton Diamond members.
