Frontier Airline Reduces Weight Limit for Checked Bags

Frontier Airlines has decided to reduce the weight limit for checked bags starting next month. The airlines says the change is part of its initiative to “go green”.

Starting March 1, Frontier will limit checked bags to a maximum of 40 lbs. That 10 lbs less than the carrier’s current limit, which still applies for tickets purchased before January 18. For tickets purchased on or after January 18, 2022, and travel completed before March 1, 2022, there’s still a maximum of 50 lbs. And then for tickets purchased on or after January 18, 2022 and travel on or after March 1, 2022, the maximum allowance is reduced to 40 lbs.

Frontier passengers can bring one personal item with them for free, but have to pay for carry-on and checked bags. Carry-on bags are limited to 35 lbs.

  1. Not flown Frontier, but still triggered. lol

I get it. “Going green” as in saving/making more money for themselves. SMH, but all airlines have been quietly downgrading luggage allowances for years.

You buy a nice carry on bag, but it’s too large a year later. And not free any more with economy for many airlines.

Someday we will be restricted to one layer of clothing. Jackets, sweaters, undergarments = Penalty! And no jewelry! Either throw it away or pay us more.

    • And these are bags you have to pay for. They’re not even free bags.

Lol one layer of clothing and standing only, like a crowded bus.
