Free Entry To All 412 U.S. National Parks Today

The National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016, and to celebrate, they’re holdingĀ special events across the country, and free admission to all 412 national parks, for a total of 16 days in 2016. The next period of free admission will be Thursday August 25 through Sunday August 28, followed by Saturday September 24 (National Public Lands Day), and Friday November 11 (Veterans Day).

August events across the country can be found at FindYourPark.com and EncuentraTuParque.com.

The waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees, such as activities that require a reservation, camping sites, lodging, tours, concession, and other fees collected by third party vendors working within the park system are not included.

Here’s a list of the 127 parks compiled by traveandleisure, that usually have entrance fees, but will be free during these celebrations:
