Emirates Joins Aeroplan Program as New Airline Partner
Air Canada and Emirates signed a strategic partnership back in July. At the time the two airlines said they establish a codeshare relationship later in 2022. Air Canada customers would have more choices when traveling to the United Arab Emirates and to destinations beyond Dubai. Emirates customers will also enjoy more benefits when travelling to Toronto or to key destinations across the Air Canada network.
Today, on December 7, Aeroplan officially welcomed Emirates as our newest airline partner. Aeroplan members will be able to earn and redeem their points for flights across the network.
Emirates is the award-winning global airline that serves over 130 cities on six continents through its efficient hub in Dubai. The airline has earned customer recognition for its industry-leading services on the ground and in the sky, delivered by a passionate workforce representing over 160 nations. Emirates operates the world’s largest fleet of wide-body Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, offering spacious cabins and iconic inflight features such as its A380 Shower Spa and Onboard Lounge, and its ice inflight entertainment system available in all seats across its fleet, which has topped “best in sky” awards for 14 consecutive years.
Earning Aeroplan Points with Emirates
You can earn Aeroplan points based on the miles flown on most scheduled flights operated by Emirates. But, miles flown on Emirates flights do not count as Status Qualifying Miles for Aeroplan Elite Status.
Points earned on Emirates is limited to flights ticketed and operated by Emirates or flights marketed and ticketed by Air Canada and operated by Emirates under a codeshare agreement between Air Canada and Emirates. Always keep your ticket and boarding pass until the points have been credited to your account. If the points for a recent flight have not been credited, you can request the missing points up to 11 months from the flight date.
Points are earned based on actual miles flown multiplied by the associated booking class accumulation percentage or the minimum points rule.
