eBay is Scrapping the eBay Bucks Program on April 1

eBay Bucks Program ends

You Will No Longer Earn 1% in eBay Bucks for All Purchases Starting April 1

eBay sent out an email today to Bucks member announcing that after this month, it will scrap the 1% earning that you currently get for most eBay purchases. We often see promotions that increase this rate to 5% or more, and it’s not clear if those promotions will continue after April 1. Here’s the text of the email:

Thank you for being a Bucks member, and a valuable part of our eBay community. We’re reaching out to tell you about upcoming changes to the eBay Bucks program.

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases starting April 1st, 2021.

The email then goes on to promote the eBay Mastercard as an option to earn a $50 signup bonus and 5x points on eBay purchases.

Moomoo $50 Bonus

Even though these rewards are coming to an end, you can still enjoy major savings on unique products and daily deals on the brands you love. You can also earn extra rewards through the eBay Mastercard®, earning up to 5x points on eBay purchases.

Now through March 11th, 2021, open a new eBay Mastercard, spend $250 in the first 30 days and receive a $50 statement credit. Click here to learn more.

  1. Always something… Remember when they took away the small bits people were earning? “Only if you earn $5 or more will you be issued Ebay Bucks”. When I saw the email today, the best I could hope for was that. Now I have no motivation to shop on Ebay vs. Amazon. Ebay makes terrible decisions at times. Really, $0.55 cents here and there (amounts that most people wouldn’t even remember they need to spend) was such an expensive program for them? Or is this a way to push the Ebay Mastercard? So irritating.
