Ibotta is a cash back app that will pay you when you make purchases at participating merchants. You can earn cash back on in-store purchase and also online, similar to a shopping portal.
For in-store purchases, you take a picture of your receipt and submit it to earn cash back on eligible items. You also need to scan the items themselves. You can read more here. For online purchases, it works like a shopping portal, where you have to go through app and then complete the purchase.
Now you can earn a $10 bonus when you sign up with a referral link or enter my referral code barvucl when you sign up through the app (referee earns $5). All you need to do is redeem a rebate within 2 weeks of signing up.
I usually get cash back for Costco and Stop & Shop purchases and I love that “Spend $15 at Ruby Tuesday get $5 back” which I’ve used multiple times. Recently they also added eBay, with 2% cash back, which is higher than anywhere else right now. It is bit of a headache to navigate the eBay website in the app, so I usually load my card on a desktop and then complete purchase through Ibotta.
For some rebates you need to answer a question or watch a short 20-30 second video.
If you already have an account then you can invite people with your referral link. They join your “team” and there’s team bonuses as well if you reach a certain cash back amount as a group.
