Discover Bank has extended the $50 bonus for new Discover checking accounts until September 15th, 2015. Offer is available nationwide but only to current Discover credit card members or deposit account customers, excluding current or previous Cashback Checking customers. Since many of you have applied for the Discover It card, you can get an extra bonus on top of your double cash back.

The account can be opened with a minimum of $25. Bonus will be issued within 30 days of account funding as a credit to your account, which must be open when issued. Bonus is considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT.

Besides the $50 bonus, the  Cashback Checking account also has a 10¢ bonus for every debit card transaction, online bill payment and cleared checks, up to 100 per month. That’s a maximum of $120 per year.

So if you make this your primary account you will have a few extra dollars at the end of each month. to go along with no fees and free checks. The bonus is small but there’s basically no requirements. I’ll open one for myself since I qualify thanks to my Discover It card.
