Discover it’s 3rd quarter bonus categories have been revealed and you are already able to register. This upcoming quarter you can earn a 5% Cashback Bonus at Gas Stations or when paying with Digital Wallets. Both categories should be good news for most people as you can easily get some spending done there.
With the Discover it card you earn 5% Cashback Bonus on select categories every quarter, on up to $1,500 in purchases. You must activate these offers quarterly. With this card you can earn up to $75 back every quarter and up to $300 every year. Plus you can have up to two Discover it cards, which means a total of $600 cash back.
3rd Quarter of 2023: 5% Categories
Here are the three categories where you can earn 5% this upcoming quarter, and the details on what counts for each one:
- Gas Station purchases include those made at merchants classified as places that sell automotive gasoline that can be bought at the pump or inside the station, and public electric vehicle charging stations. Gas Stations affiliated with supermarkets, supercenters, and wholesale clubs may not be eligible.
- Digital Wallet purchases include some online purchases and some in-store purchases made with your smartphone, tablet, or wearable. Wallets that qualify include Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay and in store with Google Pay. Apple Pay transactions included in this offer are transactions made in-store or online when using the Apple Pay button. Listed merchants are in no way sponsoring or affiliated with this program. Certain third-party payment accounts and digital wallet transactions may not earn 5% if Discover does not receive sufficient transaction detail for the purchase to be identified as being through a digital wallet. Discover does not determine the transaction details it receives for purchases. Using digital wallets to make purchases at gas stations will only earn a total of 5%.

Apply for Discover it Card
If you don’t have the Discover it card currently, you can currently apply and get a $100 bonus. You also earn double cashback during your first cardmember year. That means you earn 2% cashback on all purchases and 10% cashback on bonus category purchases.
You can have up to two Discover cards, but you need to wait at least a year to apply for the second one.
