Discover it’s 1st quarter bonus categories have been revealed and you are already able to register. This upcoming quarter you can earn a 5% Cashback Bonus at Grocery Stores, Drug Stores and Select Streaming Services. The first two categories should be good news for most people as you can easily get some spending done there.
With the Discover it card you earn 5% Cashback Bonus on select categories every quarter, on up to $1,500 in purchases. You must activate these offers quarterly. With this card you can earn up to $75 back every quarter and up to $300 every year. Plus you can have up to two Discover it cards, which means a total of $600 cash back.
1st Quarter of 2023: 5% Categories
Here are the three categories where you can earn 5% this upcoming quarter, and the details on what counts for each one:
- Grocery Store purchases include those made at supermarkets, meat lockers, bakeries, smaller grocery stores, and grocery delivery services. All purchases made at Walmart, Target, convenience stores, wholesale clubs, discount stores, and supercenters are not eligible.
- Drug Store purchases include those made at stand-alone drug stores, pharmacies, pharmacies located inside of retail stores, and from online pharmacies. Examples of
- Select Streaming Service purchases include Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Video, AMC+, Apple Music, Apple TV, Audible, DirecTV Stream, FUBO, Google Play, HBO Max, iHeartRadio, MLB.TV, Pandora, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Showtime, SiriusXM, Sling TV, Spotify, Starz, Vudu, YouTube Music, YouTube Premium, YouTube TV. If your subscription is bundled with another product or service, billed by a third party (such as a digital platform, a cable or satellite provider, telecommunications, internet provider or a car manufacturer), the purchase may not be eligible in this category.

Apply for Discover it Card
If you don’t have the Discover it card currently, you can currently apply and get a $100 bonus. You also earn double cashback during your first cardmember year. That means you earn 2% cashback on all purchases and 10% cashback on bonus category purchases.
You can have up to two Discover cards, but you need to wait at least a year to apply for the second one.
